It's sunny here!

Just saying! We are seeing sunshine and blue skies here - forgot what that looked like! I'm so excited! Hoping it warms up our pool that is now prepped for summer. Just need to "uncover" where we put the pool puppy filter so we can get the pool cleaned out for this weekend! Bring on the heat! This was my view at lunch - took a quick walk to soak up some sun!

the good Catholics

or maybe not? I swear mass was at 9:30 am. Not the one we usually go to, but I needed to go so I could pick up our envelopes for the new church we just joined. Wasn't overly pleased with our current priest oversharing of other parishoners personal information during homilies - time to move on. He's been there for 15 years. Guessing no one else will take him? Either way the new church is a breath of fresh air.
Probably a good thing I like to be early to get a strategic seat. Walked into the 9am mass at 9:15. I decided I'd stay because I was carrying a good excuse for being late. Lane. The only person who gave me a not so not nice look was the older lady running the 6th grade bake sale on the sidewalk outside. I'm guessing she was cold and she volunteered thinking it might be a nice sunny Sunday morning. Bummer for her. Double bummer was I wouldn't be buying anything. Too many bridal shower leftovers from yesterday. No treats for us!
Bonus... mass got done at 9:45. 30 minutes - sweet.
Appears it's nap time for someone! later!

someone's got a sharpie

As in a sharp tooth! Not a sharpie marker. Didn't think we'd see them popping thru this soon because he hasn't been acting like a teething baby is described. Only one episode of crying for about 2 minutes after his nap yesterday and then I felt it last night when we were eating dinner - he was enjoying some puffs while we had ribs. It appears there is one other about to join it. Both front lower. He prefers to chew on his own fingers for now. Probably wont't last that much longer.

Since he's not about showing it on film I just got a smiley shot - still appearing toothless for now.

how about that hair

Lane has the most hilarious head of hair. Have to wonder if he will thank me for not cutting it later on in life or if he will demand it be cut to look like it is now... a babymo (can't say mohawk in the same sentence as baby - so it's a babymo!)

Mother's Day ... a little late

Great grandma, mommy and Lane

Lane the escape artist... with Grandpa

Just for grandma - we snuck away to make our Mother's Day gifts with Lane
Doesn't he look proud? So funny!

Did better than the other kids there thanks to his practice at daycare.

great grandma with her two favorite men on Mother's Day!

Lane with great grandma - he surprised her Mother's Day morning.
He's getting good with the camera!

Where is May going? How is it that we are halfway to June? Mother's Day was in there somewhere along with a missing nap or two. Sleep is overrated right? ha. We've been going to Rochester every weekend to spend time with Mark's dad. Lane is such a trooper.

sleepy time

Now I'm probably going to jinx myself or Lane, but we are on night #4 of him going to sleep after I put him to bed and there is virtually no fussing. Don't ask me how I did this or what we did to deserve this - I don't have any tips for you. The first night he did it I had put him in his crib to get a few things done and before I knew it the room was silent. I looked and he was sound asleep. The 2nd night I put him down and said good night and again he went right to sleep. So that is now our routine. There is a secret sort of....

Monkey and baby Wayne with Lane! And I didn't even have to stage this!

Yes, I said baby Wayne - as in baby doll, but I am not allowed to say he has a doll. Boys don't have dolls I am told. ok, whatever. Wayne makes Lane happy so I will call him anything my husband desires. In case you are wondering how he got the name Wayne it's on his outfit we did NOT give it to him. In fact Wayne was a gift from my friend Lisa and her sister and mom when we saw them over Easter. I agree that Wayne is a unique name for a doll - not one I would have chosen. Sort of looks like a Joey doll. Now Mark is going to ask who Joey is. First sister to tell that story might get a prize. lol!
