July flew by and was super busy! Lane experienced many firsts and I have tons of pictures to upload and share. Lots of rolling and squirming and squealing as he is a super happy baby most of the time. Not up on his knee's yet, but he is very interested in cords and tv remotes and daddy's cell phone so that is used to entice moving forward. I would love to find a remote that looks real that he can chew on. I don't want to share mine! So far he has not succeeded - much to my relief. Need to baby proof a lot of stuff yet. We have learned that baby proofing is very time consuming and dangerous. Putting up a baby gate caused a boo-boo for daddy and many colorful words. We've heard some first words.... "mama" and "dadda" and I'm not sure if he understands why we come get him when he says it. Lots of babbling. "Hi" is also a favorite as is clapping when he's happy and waving when you go. Real food is now on the radar and if you take it away before he's done you are in big trouble. He is being taught when it goes to the ground or floor it's all over. Corn cob with cat hair is never a good thing. Chicken, pasta, potatoes, corn, zuc, carrots and many other treats have made their way to his mouth. When he loves it he lets you know with lots of happy baby eating noises. Banana yougurt is sure to get some good lip smacks. Cheese does too.
We spent lots of time with family. Mark's dad passed away in early July and it was a big celebration. Then we went to Michigan to spend a week with part of my family. Now we have more family coming to visit this weekend to celebrate Lane's baptism. More cousin time!
