invasion of the...

you guess??? literally hundreds are covering our house - just arrived today! Thank GOD we have all our windows shut, but they are still sneaking in the little cracks!

Even with the bad focus job you can tell they are freaking lady bugs! Only about 20 or so made it into the house. Better freeze tonight!

Ours arrived yesterday, the first warm day in several weeks, which makes me wonder if they wouldn't have come at all this year if it had stayed cold. They just swarmed the house and started sneaking in this one door that doesn't seal well enough. Today was windy and most were gone... hoping this continues. Patrick keeps saying "mouth" so he remembers eating them but he hasn't actually eaten one yet this time... perhaps he is old enough to realize they taste bad. So strange that yours showed up at the same time. Where do they come from?!

In Michigan they come from the soy bean fields. And, as you know, they are nasty. Smelly, sour tasting (one fell into my water glass once) and they bite. If you vacuum them up, be sure to empty the vacuum after, out side. We have missed them so far this year.
