baby update

The doctors appointment this afternoon went very well. All looks about the same as Tuesday and she used two different u/s attachments to get better pictures. Turns out the machine comes with multiple attachments for many uses. I guess this is why I got sent to the specialist this time? Baby's hanging out very low and using my bladder as his pillow which unfortunately for him never gets full because his head is hitting it all the time. So no change is a good thing for now. He is measuring 31 weeks so about a week and half bigger than he should be in size. 97th percentile. He must have super metabolism or something because I am not gaining weight and am eating somewhat normal. Going back Wednesday for another recheck and appointment at my regular doctor and I'll be sticking with the take it easy plan until then.
Before my appointment I got my toes done since I really can't get at them very well and they look really nice for once. Then I went for lunch at a new diner on the other side of the river. It was either that or 5 Guys and while I love their fries you get a huge bag when you order a small and I hate wasting them nor could I eat them all even if that was the only thing I ate. So anyway.... the diner.... The desserts looked to die for, but I was good and went for a real lunch. The waitress was killing me. It was a pretty plain jane diner menu and I figured how could I go wrong with a burger. So I asked the waitress if they were good because you never know for sure. She says she doesn't know because she's not a burger fan so I move onto my sandwich choice and it turns out she wasn't a sandwich fan either. Come on help me out here lady I can't make up mind because I'm not feeling all that hungry, but I know I should eat. So I go with the burger and it turns out to be awesome! Ate the whole thing almost. Hello at least tell your customers that people eat them up. It was real burger on a real bun. The coleslaw, pickle and fries were also good and even better the drink came in a Coke glass made of glass. I was shocked as they are almost always plastic. So now off to enjoy the weekend!

another baby picture

As you can see from his hand on his head he's got a headache or something. Probably the same one I have. It appears he might be coming a little early, but we'll find out more tomorrow. He's doing great though so no problems there. And I got a bonus ultrasound!

Walking the Bridge

Saturday we walked the bridge and Mark took a few pictures of Baby S. He is getting much bigger and moving lots more. 85 days to go! And yes I know it could be a few less or a few more so let's just say the eviction date is between Thanksgiving and Christmas and that will cover the bases. Gestational diabestes test was fine and he's just the right size or I should say I am when they measure me. Guess that means I get to continue eating apple pie and ice cream!

Mark has been bit by the nesting bug and has cleaned a lot of stuff this weekend. Most things that can be orgazined have been and the house is quite clean. So now my job from now until vacation is to keep it clean.

Orange Drink

Y0u know that tasty orange stuff they give you for the gestational diabetes test - yeah not so bad. The way some talk about it I thought I would be drinking orange syrup, but you know what it tasted just like Orange Hi-C from McDonalds. Maybe they mess it up at McD's? Who knows, but I know it was not that bad and over ice it would have been even better. Pretty sure it went just fine. It was nice to drink it before I left for my appointment and not have to sit there an hour. I might have had a fit if that had happened as they share the lab with the walk in clinic (read... sickies). Otherwise all was well as usual at this latest appointment. In and out in about 5 minutes. I swear I had gained 4 pounds in two weeks, but no only 2. Didn't ask for the total as I really don't care at this point - if they are pleased I am happy. Saw new doctor #3 and like the rest he's fine. Really exciting I know. I'll see about getting a belly shot done tonight.
In other news yoga started up again. I'm not good at it, but I try. She extended class to an hour and 15 minutes and last night it actually went an hour and 40 minutes! So that meant getting done at 7:40 and I was starving by then. I actually stopped at a diner to grab dinner because I'm pretty sure I was not going to make it home. I probably could have eaten two burgers, a huge salad and a whole basket of fries, but I refrained and stuck with one burger and some fries. Screw the salad. I was still hungry when I got done, but eating much more than that would have meant heartburn I'm sure. I was a bit paranoid that the yoga lady would walk in and be horrified at my choice in nutrition, but then I thought about it and there is no way she would go there so I was safe. LOL! Normally I get the banana pancakes, but I was in the mood for some red meat. Oh so good.

the name game

No we have not chosen a name yet, but we have spent much of the summer watching Big Brother together. It gets Tivo'd at night and the next day or so we watch it together. It's one 3 times a week and is the only show we are watching now. Tomorrow will be a sad night until fall tv kicks off. Now I've watched many seasons of this show, which can be quite trashy if you ask me. Mark however is a newbie and he thinks Rachel is awful and whiney. She is nothing compared to some past seasons when it was like that all season long with multiple annoying people. We both like the final 3 and since we can't decide on a name Mark suggested we name the baby after the winner. ummm... hmmmm... that depends. Enzo is not on my list. I know a Hayden and Lane is sort of different in an almost normal way. Heck they are all a bit unique. Maybe the middle name? I would have to say this is progress however and we still have 3 months or so to debate it. For the record I do ask the baby almost daily what he'd like to be named, but no strong kicks one way or the other yet! Maybe I should ask while eating ice cream?

Apple Pickin's

Turns out I was not specific about getting a belly shot when we were out apple picking. I was figuring that the bag of apples was about 10 pounds and it was. I was also thinking it was about the size of my belly and I'm SURE it was. Mark did offer to take another at home, but that is not the same so I will get one later this week.
This is Mark's apple tree in our yard. Empire I believe. Mine were Honey Crisp and they did not have as good a season hence no pictures of me with my puny apples. This is why we had to go picking at an orchard.

And this is why I want a new camera... wash out.
