bed rest update

so what does one do on bed rest? Well to start with sleeping in is not on the agenda because we haven't been staying up that late. So today I got up when Mark left at 5:30 and ate my first breakfast of the day. I then surfed the net looking for a few baby items. I really want to find a nice rocker - one that is upholstered with an ottoman. Some take a week or two for delivery and others take 6 to 8 weeks. Some news usually finds it way into this time spot too. Next up is a shower and real clothes. Breakfast #2 was about 9:30 this morning - a bowl of Total so I can skip the iron vitamins. They gross me out and the the cereal worked in bringing up my iron so this is a justified meal. Really no justification is needed because I have not gained anything in 4 weeks. This baby is a calorie burner big time. Even Mark thinks I am eating too much, but really not the case I guess. Lunch is about 12:30 and most days is some sort of leftovers. Fine by me. I can see this being a money saver with no lunches out. Good and bad. The afternoon is for catching up on work email and phone calls. Most likely a snack if I remember. Mark will roll in sometime right before dinner and then clean up the kitchen after he makes dinner and waits on me. (never fear he has been promised a Vegas vacation sometime next year as a reward for no whining about all this - that's what you get for earning husband of the year - right?) Reading and surfing the net fill in any down times. I'm sure by now Julie is totally jealous. She will be even more jealous when she hears my doc of the week - the last one in the practice that I have not met - did his residency at Brooks in San Antonio - it was before her time and it appears this is where he landed after getting out. Love having all the details online about the practice. Can't quite figure out why someone would want to more to NY to practice medicine? ah well.

If I could get paid for bed rest, I'd totally be on board. Sounds restful. Somehow I don't think that works with teaching.

Oh yeah, totally promise Mark some vacations after the baby is born because when it comes down to it he isn't going to want to be away from his boy for a few years anyway. Oh, the joys of parenthood that no one tells you... miss the kids too much to go away for more than a few hours.

This all sounds heavenly.
I think you should eat more though!
